The patient will need to schedule a face-to-face mobility evaluation visit with you so you can determine if they are in medical need of a power chair. During this visit, you must evaluate your patient's mobility needs based upon the Medicare Coverage Criteria to determine if your patient’s quality of life would improve by using a power chair or scooter.
At this time you will need to determine the following:
A u-Scoot Case Manager will provide you with the necessary documentation that we will submit to your patient’s insurance company (Medicare, Commercial Insurance or Worker’s Comp).
We will deliver the appropriate power mobility equipment directly to your patient’s home – once approved. At this time, a u-Scoot Certified Installer will adjust your patient’s power chair for a more comfortable and supportive fit. Then, our Certified Installer will walk your patient through in-depth training on how to use their new power chair safely.
